God's love does not erase His justice!
God has lovingly offered us a way to be reconciled to Him and enter into an eternal love relationship with Him. However, outside of His one and only offer of reconciliation through Jesus Christ, "The Sun of Righteousness" in the passage below, we have no access to a loving eternal relationship with Him. Outside of reconciliation to God by faith in the promised Savior, justice demands we experience the full weight of the punishment we deserve for sin. God's love does not erase His justice!
Malachi prophesies about God's love and justice:
Malachi 4:1 “For behold, the day is coming,
Burning like an oven,
And all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble.
And the day which is coming shall burn them up,”
Says the Lord of hosts,
“That will leave them neither root nor branch.
2 But to you who fear My name
The Sun of Righteousness shall arise
With healing in His wings;
And you shall go out
And grow fat like stall-fed calves.
3 You shall trample the wicked,
For they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet
On the day that I do this,”
Says the Lord of hosts.

Anthony Weiner VS Christine Quinn?
This is a strange commentary on American society. Former Congressman Anthony Weiner, who left office in disgrace after tweeting inappropriate pictures of himself to women, is seeking the Democratic nomination for NY City Mayor, against the openly gay candidate City Council Speaker Christine Quinn.
At one time, Weiner would have been the far more palatable candidate, but now his heterosexual flirting is seen as far worse that his opponents openly gay lifestyle. I am not too shocked by this, because we have become a very confused country when it comes to what we think is acceptable behavior. The question I would ask is on what basis does one decide that a man sending flirtatious pictures to a woman is worse that a woman living a gay lifestyle? If there is no absolute standard of right and wrong, such as one would find in the Bible, then why not just say anything goes in the politicians lifestyle as long as they will make decisions that we like?
Well, I guess the fact that Anthony Wiener is running against Christine Quinn, means we have come to the point where anything goes!

Sometimes it really is a man with a monkey!
I have a family member who has had a variety of health issue recently, including hallucinations relating to medications and/or old age. We have been asked to keep track of these hallucinations while our relation is in a rehabilitation center, so the doctors can make decisions about possible medication changes.
Recently, while my wife was asking the nurse about any hallucinations she had observed, in the background she overheard my son being told by our relative, that a man with a monkey came by the room and the monkey turned off her lights. When my wife told me about this, we both thought it was worth reporting to the doctors as a pretty serious hallucination.
Well, lesson learned I hope, at the next visit a roommate, who is totally in their right mind, mentioned a man with a monkey who came by the rehab to entertain some people. Of course the man stopped by their room and the monkey turned off their lights.
Moral to the story -
Sometimes, even the most unlikely account is worth taking some time to investigate before dismissing it.
I wonder what else I may have assumed was untrue?

Is an eleven year old girl involved in sexual activity something that should be kept secret?
There is a push among the so called "expets" in Government agencies to allow girls of any age to get a "morning after pill" to prevent having a pregnancy come to term. The pill would be available without a prescription and without notifying a parent or guardian. There are many obvious problems with this:
Surely it makes young girls more likely to assume sex outside marriage, at a very young age, is normal and harmless.
It puts a potentially dangerous drug in the hands of a child who we would not trust to use other medications safely.
It encourages young girls to keep their parents in the dark about their lives rather than encouraging them to turn to them for wisdom and guidance.
And, here is the one I am most shocked about, if someone is having sex with an eleven year old girl, we should be investigating sexual abuse, not encouraging a cover up. Any eleven year old girl who needs a "morning after pill" is a victim, even if she was a willing participant in the sexual activity. Regardless of if the male involved is eleven or sixty, something is very wrong with a girl that young having sex and it needs to be investigated, not kept secret.
