God's wrath a no no in PCUSA songs!

Follow this link God's wrath to an interesting article on why the Presbyterian Church USA, not to be confused with the more conservative Presbyterian Church in America, has decided to remove the song In Christ Alone from their hymnals, after failing to get the authors to allow them to replace lyrics about God's wrath with less offensive language.

1 Cor. 1:18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written:
“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”

  1. Indeed, the saving message of the Cross would be foolish, even needless, apart from the fearful truth of God's Just Wrath that will crush all things not like Him..As ive heard you say, the equally true attribute of God's Perfect Love cant be used to steamroll His other Beautiful Characteristics as though they were false or lesser..man has no need to have his sins paid for,or to be given the Righteouness of Another, if The Creator is in the end really "groovy", and will just let our enmity and countless offences against Him just slide..Romans 1:18 says His Wrath is already being given out as He wishes, but I suppose they will have to tear out Romans, as it speaks repeatedly of The Fathers Wrath..Because God will rightly pour wrath on any person who has broken His Flawless Law, even once, Salvation through Atonement becomes nessesary, becomes urgent, becomes CHERISHED if actually attained..Also, though not positive if applicable, Job 28:28 says " Behold, the Fear of the Lord, THAT is Wisdom..."..Lastly, the more terrible the destruction Ive been spared from, the more GRATEFUL I will be to my Savior and Judge..Romans 1:21-32 seems to deem that utterly needed, even just to function in THIS world tj
